BOB PEARSON - SAN FERNANDO, CA 2-3-84 Bob is the author of the 3rd Edition Big Book story, "AA TAUGHT HIM TO HANDLE SOBRIETY." Bob gave this talk in San Fernando, California on February 3rd, 1984. His sobriety date is July 3rd, 1961. Bob's home group is in Greenwich, Connecticut, the third oldest AA group in the country. Bob talks about the AA General Service Office, where he works. He talks about the structure of AA. Bob says that 23 years ago he woke up in a strange hospital dying of cirrhosis of the liver. His arms were strapped to the bed. He was receiving blood transfusions and being fed intravenously. As soon as he was able, he snuck out of the hospital, bought a bottle of vodka and returned. After his doctor caught him, he turned him over to Doctor Harry Tiebout. Bob's story is serious but with a touch of humor. He sums up his talk by saying, "We are all at peace for the first time in our lives. We're at peace with ourselves, our fellow man, and at peace with God." Contents - 15 Tracks Length - 74 Minutes |
