BETH HARTLEY - ST SIMONS ISLAND, GA 5-27-04 Beth is the author of the 4th Edition Big Book Story, "EMPTY ON THE INSIDE." Beth recorded this Alcoholics Anonymous talk on May 27th, 2005. Beth's sobriety date is June 26th, 1988. She begins by stating that she's a little nervous because her mother is in the crowd and she's never heard her speak "live" before. Beth is from Cary, North Carolina but she grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. She says that there is no "advanced AA" for her; she does the same things now that she was told to do when she first entered the program. Beth tells some stories of how she was continually hitting bottom when she was drinking. Now that she's sober, she's got a lot of gratitude and you can easily hear it in her voice.
