  BILL WILSON - APRIL 17th, 1968

On this talk Bill Wilson speaks about the AA Traditions. He says that they came about as an extension of an early list of "Dos and Don'ts" in the Alcoholics Anonymous program. Bill says that the very beginning of the traditions actually were the result of an alcoholic that approached Dr Bob. He wanted to be a member of AA but he also had another problem that he thought made him ineligible for the program. After Dr Bob discussed it with the other group members they came up with the idea that "You are a member of AA if YOU say you're a member of AA." Bill says, "Our traditions are a list of Lessons of Yesterday." The audio quality of this recording is somewhat less than perfect. Some areas are a little muffled but the words can still be understood.
