CLARENCE SNYDER - HAWAII - NOVEMBER 1980 Clarence is the author of the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Edition Big Book Story, "HOME BREWMEISTER." Clarence Snyder, age 77 at the time, recorded this AA talk in November of1980 in Hawaii. On this recording, Clarence tells his story of drinking up to the point where he met Dr Bob and became associated with the Oxford Group. He wants to tell more of his story but his speaking time is limited. Clarence gives a very accurate description of the non-drinking alcoholics, "He is lonely, he is restless, etc." He jokingly talks about the way he is portrayed in the books, "Not God," and "Dr Bob and the Good Old timers," as having an "abrasive" personality. He then thoroughly talks about each of the twelve steps. Clarence asks his potential sponsees 20 questions that he uses to determine their character defects. Clarence is very firm in his belief that nobody should take their ninth step without the assistance of a sponsor. A good solid AA talk from an old timer. Contents - 14 Tracks Length - 70 Minutes |
