DOCTOR BOB'S HOUSE FULL OF MIRACLES
In a modest home in Akron, Ohio, the miracle that has saved the lives of millions began. This film takes you there. It was the spring of 1935 when two men met for the first time under difficult circumstances. Both were hopeless drunks. This is the story of the miracle that transformed their lives and, one by one, the lives of countless others. Even more amazing, this miracle is still alive – saving more lives today than it did in the beginning. This DVD follows a young man as he seeks out the birthplace of his own personal miracle – it will take you behind the scenes to the places and people that were part of the beginning of the program we know now as Alcoholics Anonymous. The program of AA is simple in nature and supernatural in its profound effect upon anyone who actually works it. This DVD will take you from the depths of despair to the heights of joy, and give new hope to all who share this experience. Don’t miss it.

DRINKING & DRIVING - THE TOLL, THE TEARS
This DVD has unusual intensity and depth of feeling; it may be traced to its unique origin. Washington television reporter, Kelly Burke had been drinking with friends after a long day’s work. While driving home, he was involved in an accident in which a man was killed. As the impact of this death became almost unbearably clear to Burke, he conceived the idea of trying to communicate this awful reality so that others might possibly learn from his experience and avoid a similar tragedy. The unique thing about this DVD is the reporter himself. He ends up being very much directly involved in this story. It’s kind of like a twist ending in a movie. You’ll be alerted to the devastating effects of drinking and driving by this powerful DVD documentary, introduced by Phil Donahue. Interviews with accident victims, their families and drunk drivers themselves provide a clear human message about the tragedy of this national social problem. This DVD is an excellent exploration of alcohol abuse and of social responsibility. This would be a great DVD for an individual and a treatment center alike.

DUI - DEAD IN 5 SECONDS
This DVD begins with children playing on a playground. It’s almost impossible to imagine that they may one day be killed by a drunk driver. It’s just as impossible that you’re the driver. But every 30 minutes it happens to someone. A man by the name of Russell Turner knows this firsthand. On this DVD, his 19-year old son, Jeremy is killed instantly in a car accident involving a driver under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Russell shares his tragedy as a poignant reminder that driving under the influence is a choice. He tells us that it’s a choice that has possible life long consequences. The driver, Steven Leslie, knows first-hand. He’s spending 17 years to life in prison for Jeremy’s death. This DVD is a realistic portrayal of drinking and driving through a montage of images (some graphic), and interviews. You’ll see the parents saying their last goodbye to their son – dead on a hospital gurney. Viewers will be moved by Steven Leslie’s candid comments and reading of a remorseful letter to the victim’s family. Together these glimpses into affected people’s lives make this a very moving DVD you’ll never forget.

ELEPHANT IN THE LIVING ROOM
This DVD is an allegorical dramatization of the denial and secrecy that pervades life in an alcoholic home or any other type of dysfunctional family. The film points out the need for awareness, and the amount of courage necessary to expose the "elephant" of addiction and dysfunction in our "living rooms" and expel the 'no-talk rules' from our lives. The program emphasizes the importance of talking about each family member's feelings rather than pretending that they don't exist. It illustrates how the "elephant" represents the fear and shame that can enmesh a family in a shroud of secrecy. An excellent catalyst for discussion among codependents, adult children of alcoholics, children of trauma, and addicts alike because it focuses on issues that confront each member of a dysfunctional family. The captivating story provides insight into dysfunctional and alcoholic homes, while exploring the childhood trauma brought on by addiction, rage and other inappropriate parenting behavior. It’s an exceptional visual aid for all age groups.

ELVIS PRESLEY - HIS FINAL HOURS
This DVD reconstructs the final hours of Elvis Presley’s life and the events that led to his early death - the drugs, the girls, the financial meltdown of an empire, and the pivotal role of Colonel Tom Parker. The story is told by those who knew him the best, the long-standing friends and confidantes who made up the legendary inner circle known as The Memphis Mafia. Reunited for the first time since Elvis died in 1977, the seven members of this group now gather to tell their intimate, revealing and amazing stories: Joe Esposito, Elvis' number one aide from 1960 until the time of his death and the man who tried frantically to save the King's life; Presley's hairdresser and spiritual guru Larry Geller who helped prepare the body for internment; Billy Smith, Elvis' cousin and his most trusted friend of all; Lamar Fike, tour manager and the longest serving member of the Memphis Mafia who blames Colonel Parker for Elvis' death; bodyguard Sonny West; Jerry Schilling, a close family friend and Marty Lacker, Elvis' best man and guardian of his cash. These are the men who were trusted by Elvis to share his innermost thoughts and secrets and who were at his side on that fateful Tuesday in 1977, when arguably the greatest popular icon and entertainer of the 20th century left the stage for the last time.

ENABLING - MASKING REALITY
This DVD makes it very clear that addiction is everyone's problem. Almost all of us play a role in it through enabling. In this program, Hugh Downs shows how attempts to be helpful often enable alcoholics and addicts to escape the consequences of addiction. This enabling reinforces denial and delusion, and allows addiction to strengthen its grip. Dramatic scenes show how family members, friends, and co-workers get caught up in masking the reality of one man's addiction to alcohol and drugs. A very enlightening recording.

FATHER LEO BOOTH - INTERVENTION
The actual title of this DVD is: AN EVENING WITH FATHER LEO, but the topic is definitely INTERVENTION. Recorded in front of a live audience, Father Leo introduces himself as a recovering alcoholic. He discusses the many types of intervention. He says that religion is NOT the answer, spirituality is. Father Leo talks about: What is an intervention, How do you do an intervention and what are the results of an intervention. He says that the idea that you cannot help an alcoholic is nothing but a myth. He pulls three different people out of the audience and demonstrates how to conduct an intervention – with love. The addicted person has to believe in their ability to change. He says that you need to stop and smell the roses because those roses are your life. Father Leo firmly believes that intervention can sometimes come from unexpected sources. Near the end of this DVD, he demonstrates this by relating a story of a young man that made a change in his life after hearing the words to a Beatles song. Father Leo looks right into the camera and emotionally recites these words:
When I was younger, so much younger than today, I never needed anybody's help in any way. But now these days are gone, I'm not so self assured, Now I find I've changed my mind, I've opened up the door.
Help me if you can, I'm feeling down And I do appreciate you being around. Help me get my feet back on the ground, Won't you please, please help me?

Father Leo introduces himself as a recovering alcoholic. He lists and discusses twenty different Symptoms of Religious Obsessiveness and then goes on to list and discuss the twenty symptoms of recovery from this condition.
