YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED
This DVD was produced in Ireland. It’s the story of John Healy, a boxer, a violent alcoholic and an author. John stayed drunk on the streets of London from 1960 through 1971. Prison had become his second home. While incarcerated, John was introduced to the game of chess and went on to become a tournament player. He wrote about his drinking days in a book called, “The Grass Arena.” John eventually had a falling out with his publisher and they refused to print any more of his books. Even though this documentary talks about John years as an alcoholic, it deals mainly with John's problems with his publisher.

YOUNG PEOPLE AND AA
On this DVD, four young A.A. members describe what it was like, what happened to bring them to AA, and what their lives are like sober today. These are not actors; they are actual members of AA. In keeping with AA Traditions, the identity of the A.A. members is protected. This is an excellent DVD for the AA newcomer. This is an Alcoholics Anonymous General Service Conference-Approved recording.

YOUR GENERAL SERVICE OFFICE, THE GRAPEVINE, & THE GENERAL SERVICE STRUCTURE
If you’ve ever been a little confused about how the whole AA office structure is set up, this DVD will clear it up for you. It explains Intergroups, The Central Office, and Individual groups. The DVD explains how the groups elect GSRs (General Service Representatives) who together with district committee members, select delegates to the General Service Conference. You’ll learn that the General Service Conference is where area delegates meet for a full week each April and where official AA policy is set. You’ll learn why it is important that AA literature is consistent throughout all individual AA groups. It covers The Grapevine (our meeting in print) and how it operates independently from the GSO. How it includes articles from individual AA members, that it is edited by a team of professional journalists. The DVD also includes a short segment on the AA archives and how the first General Service Office opened in Newark, New Jersey with only two employees. Some old AA newsreel footage is included as well. This is a good DVD for the Long-timer and the Newcomer alike. There’s a lot of info packed into this DVD.
